To grant a Power of Attorney, the following is required:

  • The presence of the grantor bearing proper identification (Ecuadorian "Cédula" Identification Card, Passport, or another government issued identification).
  • If a Limited Power of Attorney is required, the grantor must present the minutes or draft, provided by a lawyer from Ecuador.
  • Fully completed this Form.
  • The cost of either the General or Limited Power of Attorney is $80.00 (in cash or money order).

The Powers of Attorney for the Ecuadorian Educational and Scholarship Institute "IECE" are free of charge.

The General or Limited Power of Attorney can be revoked at any time. The grantor must appear at the Consulate bearing proper identification, the number and the date of issuance of the Power of Attorney; the fee is $80.00 (in cash or money order).

A certified copy of the Power of Attorney can also be issued at any time. The grantor must appear in the Consulate bearing proper identification, the number and the date of issuance of the Power of Attorney; the fee is $10.00 (in cash or money order).
