Humanitarian Actions
Every year, under the coordination of the Consulate of Ecuador in Washington, many donations as well as medical aid missions make their way to Ecuador, to help the
people in need.

Below is a detail of the activities for 2007:
January 13-25
Operation "Hope" at Hospital "Padre Carolo" of Fundacion "Tierra Nueva" in Quito. In this time 103 surgeries in 9 days were attended including a 15 year old girl that was bit a pitbull in the face. It looked like the dog took a bite out an apple, just missing her entire lip. They we're able to repair her face. There were 33 cleft lip babies, amazing trip.Operation Hope is going to Zimbabwean next october and from this Consulate we give thanks to Dr. Joseph Clawson, Director and Jennifer Trubenbach, Coordinator of the Mission to Ecuador for all of your support and efforts to give a lot a ecuadorian babies a new smile. February 15
Ecuadorian Carlos Eduardo Vera and his family, residents in Maryland was affected by a fire losing all in their house. This Consulate attended with different articles and clothes to this family.
March 10
Latin American Critical Care Project from Woodbridge, CT sent Medicines and Medical Equipment as donation to Hospital San Vicente de Paul from city of Ibarra and Province of Imbabura. Municipality of Ibarra send letter to give thanks for the support of Consulate of Ecuador in Washington DC
March 24
The Second Health, Education and Music Fair was organized in the Embassy of Ecuador to the ecuadorian and latin comunity of Washington, Maryland and Virginia. Several organization non profit of the area participated in the fair. Dr.Nelly Ninahualpa was the coordinator and about 300 people attended for second year this event.
March 25
St. Augustine Chapel Mission from Nashville, Tennessee, were a very successful activities in this trip. Almost 950 people in the medical clinic of San Eduardo comunity of Canton Ventanas, Los Rios Province, also put windows and painted 3 classrooms of Escuela Ann Stevens, landscaped the grounds around the school and planted 3 almond trees. April 14-28
Medical Mission of Dr. Harry McLeod, Dr. William Silberman and Dr. Dan Dwyer in Hospital "San Miguel de Bolivar" with coordination of Doctor David Lopez, Director of Hospital and Governor of Bolivar. Here were attended 2,754 patients of vision program and provided glasses for over 800 patients. Majority of people from Chimborazo, Bolivar and Tungurahua were affected of volcanic eruption of "Tungurahua". Gradas Chico, Regulo de Mora and Pangua are remotes villages visited for the doctors. Last 2006 were attend over 4,000 people for this humanitarian Medical Mission.
May 15
Foundation at Glendale School District and International Education Facilitator and Foreign Language of Pensylvannia Department of Education, sent as donation to FUNSEPE and ARCISE of Manabi, 340 usable computers to attend the schools of Province of MANABI.
June 14
GENZYME Corporation from Cambridge Massachusetts sent to Hospital "Baca Ortiz" medicines as donation to give to Dasha Wuispe who is affected for Mucopolisacaridosis 1(MPS1). Dra. Caroline Chang, Minister od Heath Public of Ecuador sent a letter to this Consulate to give thanks for this humanitarian activity in favor of Dasha.
June 2 - 10
Operation "Rainbow" from Oakland, California, came working with Medical Missions in several countries around the world and attending treatements without cost to majority of poor people. This time under coordination of Consulate of Ecuador in Washington were visited the Hospital "Teofilo Davila" of Machala under the coordinator of Dra. Laura Escobosa and 46 volunteers and Dr. Carlos Loor Garcia from Hospital of Machala, El Oro.
June 25-29
Operation "Rainbow" from Oakland, California Dr.Rafael Rodriguez Zambrano" of Manta with the coordination of Consulate in Washington and Dr.Rene Carrasco of this organization and for 33 american doctors, nurses and assistants. These missions brought medicines and equipment to attend many people from Manabi. For Ecuador colaborated Dr. Mateo Noblecilla Rosillo from Manta, Manabí.
